By evening, that same relentless sun filled the sky with extraordinary beauty. Witnessing this, I felt a deep respect for the strength and patience of things that persist.

That feeling reminded me of the Korean mother figure I carry within me: steadfast, quietly holding so much, shaped by years of endurance. She is a personal image, where memory meets an ideal, rather than a portrait of what every mother is or should be.
