Sedona Dreaming: The Living Landscape – Original 24X36"

Sedona Dreaming: The Living Landscape explores the relationship between the human body and the ancient forms of the American Southwest. Four figures emerge from the red canyon landscape, their curved forms echoing the sandstone ridges and weathered shapes of Sedona.

Rather than treating the canyon as scenery, I imagined the land itself as a living presence — maternal, enduring, and deeply connected to the people who move through it. The figures become part of the terrain, suggesting that our individual lives are brief within a landscape shaped over immense stretches of time.

Warm earth tones, layered forms, and softened contours create a sense of stillness and belonging. The painting reflects on humility, connection, and the quiet feeling of being held within something much larger than ourselves.
